To practice moving your hips in bachata dance, you can start with a simple drill:
1. Stand in the basic bachata stance, feet open and arms loose at your sides.
2. Begin by rocking your hips from side to side and back to center. Focus on isolating your hip motion while keeping the rest of your body stable.
3. After a few repetitions, add a quick hip circle with each step. Moving your hips in small circles will help you develop faster control over them so that you can more easily transition between movements.
4. Finally, finish up with a series of alternating hip twists and then repeat the entire drill until you become comfortable with all the motions.
