SalsaKnox Dance Company is a family-owned and operated business that has been teaching people how to dance since 2008. Waldo and Jacqueline Solano are the co-owners of the company, and they have both been dancing for as long as they can remember. They met while dancing at a nightclub in Knoxville, TN, and they were married just four years later. They love teaching people how to salsa dance because it makes them feel happy and alive.

The Salsa Party (1st and 3rd Friday of The Month)

The Salsa Party is one of the largest parties in all of Knoxville. Salsa parties are one of the most fun events you can attend.

And to make this event even better, it is a Charity Salsa Event with proceeds going to the United Help Ukraine Non-Profit Organization.

So, at this dance party, we are not only having fun, but we are supporting raising money for an important cause.

The Salsa Party Charity for Ukraine event is at the Hilton Embassy Suites in West Knoxville, TN. You can come to the event on the first Friday of every month.

The next Salsa Party event will feature world-renowned DJ, Mike Arana, from Atlanta, GA, who has been a part of many national and internationally successful dance projects…

Attendees should also be expecting a Beginner Salsa and Bachata Lesson starting at 8:00 pm by world-renowned social media influencers and dancers Jaqueline and Waldo Solano and at 8:30 Intermediate Salsa Classe by Jose S Campaz World Salsa Champion.

In addition, there will be great music, several thousand square feet of dancing space, a bar with your favorite drinks, formal tables and seating for your convenience, and much more!

This event is for non-dancers, beginners, and advanced alike, so come and show your love for dance, music, and Ukraine!

Nightclubs

There's always something going on at one of our many nightclubs in downtown Knoxville (AKA., Old City). If you're looking to show off your moves on the dance floor, there's no better place to do it than at one of these nightclubs.

They got everything from hip-hop at South Bound, the best of the 80s,90s, and early 2000s at Hannas Old City, to salsa dancing at the Double S Wine Bar, and even country line dancing at Cotton Eyed Joe.

Swing Dancing

Looking for a fun way to get moving in Knoxville? Swing dancing might be just what you need! This popular dance style originating in the 1920s and 1930s is perfect for those who want to let loose and have a good time.

Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art that combines dance, acrobatics, and music elements.

This class is open to all levels and is located outside the Sustainable Future Center on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30 pm. The cost of the course is $5, but the first class is FREE!

Mountain Biking Ride at Meads Quarry

Every Tuesday evening (weather permitting) come ride the "South Loop" with extras. No Drop. Intermediate difficult.

This is a great way to meet new friends with similar hobbies while meeting your move goal for the day. If you love to bike, you do not want to miss this unique social gathering.

Hair of the Dog Yoga

Start every Saturday morning on the right foot at the Printshop Beer Co taproom for an hour-long flow yoga class with Rigazzi Wellness from 10:45 am to 11:45 am.

The price is $12 for the yoga class plus a beer or $10 for only yoga - this is a steal if you ask me.

This is a guided Vinyasa yoga class that welcomes all levels of experience. So bring your mat, and the instructors will provide straps and blocks (if needed).

And the best part, after class, you get to hang out and have a beer! First-time attendees will be required to sign a waiver for class. Cheers!

The Farmer's Market in downtown Knoxville is a vibrant and bustling place where you can find fresh local produce, handmade goods, and more - this is truly one of the great hidden gems of Knoxville, TN.

Starting the first week of May, every Wednesday(10:00 am - 1:00 pm) and Saturday (9:00 am - 1:00 pm) until late October, the Northwest corner of Market Square transforms into a bustling marketplace filled with fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, meats, cheeses, and more.

Farmers from all over East Tennessee come to sell their goods, and it's a great place to find unique ingredients for your next meal or treats to take home.
